I was looking over my blog and realized that if you were to visit for the first time you might find my portfolio, videography, or overviews a bit overwhelming - what do I look at first? what is all this stuff? In order to simplify the process I thought I'd breakdown a few of my key projects and edits to make it easier for viewers to find content that interests them.
With an approach that's been focused on variety and developing a range of skills, you should find a little bit of everything below. Have fun exploring.
COMEDY
From a couple of shorts based on sibling rivalry, simply titled Siblings, to an ambitious and enthusiastically promoted series involving bad Back to the Future jokes and my old Buick, titled Buick to the Future, you're sure to be pleased if quirky and awkward pauses are your thing. Also check out The Geology Student, Space Drama! and the Chico Bandito series.
TRAVEL
Creating travelogs and mini-edits out of various locales has long been a passion of mine. See my Rushmore, Alaska, and Las Vegas Edits, along with my Ontario and California postcards for some quick and fast-paced videos of various highlights surrounding these areas. Coming soon - an energetic trip cross country from Alberta to Indio, California titled Indio Outio.
EXPERIMENTAL / PERSONAL PROJECTS
Check out my Split Screen Experiments, Car Kaleidoscope, or Day Dream Day for a place start. These random videos showcase a range of styles and tests that I've done over the years to get a feeling for different techniques. Also see Urban Jazz, Alphabet, Quirks, and my first road trip movie about life after university, Educated Detours.
FILM SCHOOL / FESTIVALS
As an aspiring filmmaker from a young age, film school was my chance to branch out. Shorts like Keys to Existence and Silent Shoppers not only got me good grades, but they also won me a few awards. This trend continued with personal projects outside of the classroom like A Chill in the Air, Give it Time, and The Gizmo Tree, attracting further attention. Of all my film school projects however, the largest concept I produced in university was for my final year of production with Elliot, a mockumentary/comedy about a struggling author trying to gain recognition from a national writer's guild.
With over 100 original edits and videos on this blog there's sure to be something for everyone, and this doesn't even take into account the numerous articles, reviews, and observations posted over the last few years. As I say in my blog promo, 'from a filmmaker to film lovers', my goal is to connect with others who share this passion - be sure to share your thoughts!
Thanks for stopping by - be sure to check back for all new videos!
